Ann-Marie McCormack
DIRECTOR WRITER PRODUCER
Ann-Marie is an Irish director and writer, with over twenty years experience in drama, factual TV and short film production. She has written for the BBC and directed drama and documentaries for ITV. She has also been a writer/director participant on the EKRAN feature development programme in Poland.
Ann-Marie has most recently written and directed the proof-of-concept short film No Blacks No Irish No Regrets starring Patrick Robinson with Troy TV and AmmA Films and Productions.The film has screened at several international film festivals and won awards in India and Canada; Best Women's Film IIFF and Best Film-Female Filmmaker IBDFF. This is currently being developed into an oral history podcast series, as well as a TV series. She has also produced a BFI Network UK short film HATS with Fam Films Productions, as well as a TV pilot and several of her own short films under AmmA Films and Productions; Longwood, Pushing Buttons, Communing and Hot in Here, which screened at many international film festivals worldwide.
Ann-Marie is the creator, producer and editor of Parents Gap Year a world travel podcast series, which she co-hosts with Rod Gray. Season 1&2 are currently available on all podcast apps and season 3 is in post-production. Ann-Marie has several acting credits to her name and most recently played Maighread in the short film Banshee, set in Donegal 1880.
As a senior lecturer at Bathspa University, with a Masters degree in Film, Ann-Marie develops short film and script writing projects with students. She is also a regular presenter on BCfm’s radio show Real Women and has previously produced the podcast series Tell Me About…interviewing young people about subjects close to their heart; body image, gender and mental health. Ann-Marie works in the UK and Ireland, loves world travel and lives happily in Bristol with her family.
